A Little Bit About Us

A Little Bit About Us

Whitney Knecht |

Hi y’all! My name is Whitney Knecht (pronounced Connect), and I’m the proud owner of Little Buffalo Creek Co. With the constant love and support of my husband, Ty, this dream became possible. What started as a simple idea has grown into a brand inspired by our family, our journey, and our two wild little boys.

Ty is a full-time firefighter and paramedic in Garland, Texas. We met through mutual friends online and have been together since 2017. While we’re not legally married just yet, you’ll always hear us refer to each other as husband and wife - because that’s truly what we are in every way that matters. One day, when life slows down just a bit, we hope to celebrate with a small, intimate wedding.

In March of 2020, we were overjoyed to learn we were expecting, especially after being told I would likely never conceive due to endometriosis and PCOS. Our excitement doubled when we found out we were having a boy. As my pregnancy progressed (and proved to be a tough one), I quickly realized how difficult it was to find quality, stylish clothing for boys. After months of frustration, I finally told Ty I wanted to start my own boys boutique. Without hesitation, he encouraged me to go all in. Within a week, we were sourcing products, and on October 1, 2020, Little Buffalo Creek Co. officially opened its online doors.

In November of 2020, we welcomed our first son, Lariat Nash Hawkins, into the world. Becoming parents was the most incredible love we had ever known. Lariat is named after my grandfather, Larry Knecht, who passed away in 2014 from mesothelioma.

In August of 2023, we were blessed with our second son, Lakota “Kota” Ridge Hawkins. While his name doesn’t carry family roots, it does hold a special memory. While Ty and I were set up at the NFR in 2021, we passed by Lakota horse trailers and joked, “If we ever have another boy, that should be his name.” Two years later, it became real.

Just eight days after having Kota, I faced an emergency appendectomy, where doctors discovered my endometriosis had spread severely. Five months later, I underwent a hysterectomy while keeping my ovaries to help regulate my hormones. Six months after that, I was hospitalized again due to internal bleeding from my right ovary, which ultimately had to be removed. Since then, we’ve been doing everything we can to preserve my left ovary and manage my health. Through this journey, we’ve also discovered homeopathic remedies that have helped tremendously (You’ll notice that we only carry natural organic products in our store). While I continue to battle pain at times, I remain incredibly grateful that it’s nothing more serious.

If you or someone you love struggles with endometriosis or PCOS, please know - you are not alone. Our hearts and prayers are with you.

From our family to yours, thank you for supporting our small business and being part of our journey. We are endlessly grateful.

God bless,

🖤 The Little Buffalo Creek Co. Family
